Lightness

So today marked my first full week at Philadelphia University! But that's not even the bast part, today my all time favorite band Death Cab For Cutie announced the releasing of ten demos from their album Transatlanticism in honor of its tenth anniversary this October. Being the fan girl that I am I was ecstatic to learn this. In fact I whipped out my headphones during my lunch with some friends to listen to the demo of "Lightness" which they already released. Though this was pretty rude at the time and I have come to regret it a little I absolutely loved the track and I can not wait to hear the other nine.

Now I know that had absolutely nothing to do with my outfit today but there was  no way I could contain my excitement. Anyway, today I wore one of my favorite skirts, it's from H&M. I really love the length of it, I'm all about midi skirts, but I also really like the subtle texture that it adds. If you can't tell its covered in polka dots. I paired it with my American Apparel cotton spandex jersey crop tee, and H&M ballet flats (which are so comfortable!). I tend to wear more simplistic things but I really like how subtle things like the polka dots on my skirt add so much interest.

School Days

Hello everyone! My name is Lea and I'm a fashion student at Phila U. I'm studying fashion merchandising and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming semester. Today was actually my first day of classes so I thought that was a worthy subject for my first blog post. In between classes my new found friend Tori, also known as http://www.fashiontrendsmore.com/, and I took photos in between classes. Tori has excellent style and I really think her and I are going to be good friends.

I'd like to think of my personal style as classic, but I love mixing in more trendy, fun pieces as well. For my first day I chose this yellow dress from Original Penguin. Personally, I had never known much about Original penguin until I met my boyfriend a little over a year ago. Original Penguin started off as clothing brand that manufactured sportswear in the 1950's, such as golf and tennis shirts for men. However the brand has since developed and is sold in many department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy's, and many more. In my opinion the brand has excellent menswear and I actually fell in love with some of their women's wear when I visited their store in New York City this past summer. I wold definitely suggest checking it out. Here's a link to their website: http://www.originalpenguin.com/

I hope you all check back in soon for my next post, thanks so much!
